Hays Academy of Hair Design - Due Date: April 27th 
Description: they are offering two $500 scholarships to seniors who will graduate from any Kansas High School.  All criteria must be received by May 1st.  Recipients will be selected and notified by May 15th
Guidelines: Complete Hays Academy application, write a 1-2 page essay that includes discussion on all the following topics: Why you are interested in the career of Cosmetology, What professionalism means to you, and Why you would be an excellent recipient of this scholarship.  Turn in this scholarship to Mrs Brack by April 27th so she can include your transcript and mail it for you.

Legacy Scholarship from Kansas Masonic Due Date: Apr 30th
Description: The purpose of these scholarships is to both provide financial assistance to undergraduate students who are pursuing opportunities for personal and professional growth via higher education and to assist our worthy Brother Masons by providing scholarship opportunities to their legacies.  
Scholarship Amount: $1000 or $500 to any Technical College in Kansas
Criteria: Must be one of the following: Legacy of a Kansas Mason Member of DeMolay, International for at least 2 years, Member of International Order of the Rainbow for Girls for at least 2 years, or Member of Job’s Daughter International for at least 2 years

Kansas Masonic Foundation Student Loan & Scholarship Program  - 
Due Date: Apr 1st (closed 2013-14)
DescriptionThe current maximum interest rate for the Student Loan Program is 4%. No Masonic affiliation is needed to apply for the loan. Loan approvals are based on each student's situation without regard to Masonic affiliation, age, race, sex, or disability. See Mrs. Brack for the application.

BT County Farm Bureau -   Due Date: Apr 7th (closed for 2013-14)
Description: Four - $500 renewable scholarship to HS senior whose parent/guardian are current members of BT Co Farm Bureau, GPA 2.5 or above, two letter of recommendations. This scholarship is renewable. Must be turned into Mrs Brack by April 7th

Vietnam Veterans of America Chp 939 Due Date: Apr 12th (closed 2013-14)
DescriptionThey will be awarding 4 - $500 scholarships for college or trade school. VVA focus is upon students who have been reasonably conscientious as students, thought not necessarily distinguishing themselves in academics. They are interested in students who have been employed for pay during their high school careers. No connection needed with a Vietnam Veteran. Pick up the scholarship from Mrs. Brack.

Sunflower Diversified Services Foundation  - Due Date: Apr 13th (closed 2013-14)
DescriptionOne $250 scholarship to a graduating senior who plans to enter a field of study associated with services to persons with developmental disabilities, including special education, speech/language pathology, physical therapy, or occupational therapy. Must get transcript and application from Mrs Brack.

Description:  Student financial aid includes grants, scholarships, and loans. The Kansas Board of Regents is responsible for the administration of the state-funded grants and scholarships. KS State Scholarship, KS Ethnic Minority Scholarship, KS Nursing Service Scholarship, KS Teacher Service Scholarship, KS Career Technical Workforce Grant, KS Military Service Scholarship, and KS National Guard Education Assistance. First United Methodist Church Memorial Scholarship - Due Date: May 1st
DescriptionMust have at least one parent or grandparent who is a resident member of First United Methodist Church Hoisington, KS. Must have at least at 2.0 GPA. Bagley Scholarship for Medical and/or Musical Education, the the application for the Bagley Scholarship shall be open to the general population of Hoisington, with a preference for second career training and/or career enhancements of the staff of the Hoisington Nursing Home and/or the Clara Barton Hospital; and shall be awarded on a basis of financial need. WSU Scholarship Deadline  - Due Date: Oct 1st (closed 2014-15)
Description: Distinguished Scholarship Invitational (WSU) Wichita State University will be offering high school seniors to compete in the Distinguished Scholarship Invitational. Through this competition, more than $500,000 in scholarships are awarded based on leadership and academic performance. To be considered for an invitation to the DSI, students must complete the following by Oct 1st: submit official high school transcript with a minimum 3.50 GPA, have a minimum ACT score of 24 on file with WSU, and be admitted to WSU. Description: Each year, Washburn University awards millions in scholarships.  If you have a high school GPA of at least 3.25 and score well on the Garvey Scholarship Exam, you could receive an annually renewable scholarship to Washburn of $55 to $2,000. To be eligible for the Garvey scholarship, your admissions file must be complete by December 15th.

DescriptionThe purpose of the Hagan Scholarship is to provide each scholarship recipient with the opportunity to obtain a 4-year college education and graduate debt free. 
Eligibility requirements: must be a resident of KS, must have attended eligible high school (HHS is), must be in 2014 graduate class, 3.50 GPA or higher, must score 23 or higher on the ACT, must enroll in college the first semester after high school, FAFSA expected family contribution must be less than $7,500, must not have been convicted of a felony. DescriptionThe Hixson Opportunity Award was established to provide the opportunity for students to attend KU who would otherwise not be able to because of significant personal challenges and financial hardship. The scholarship donor, Christina Hixson, has a strong desire to help students achieve their dreams of earning a college degree. Each recipient will have the opportunity to receive up to $20,000 for their educational expenses ($5,000 per year for up to four years). Senator Robert Dole Public Service Scholarship

Description$1000 scholarship up to 40 will be awarded. 2013 graduating high school senior, GPA 3.0 or higher, involved in significant amount of volunteer community services projects or public service activities, enrolling in a Kansas Regents' University. Description: male seniors that are planning on attend Kansas State University.  This scholarships was designed to help the student pay part of his tuition.  The will offer one $1000 and two $500 scholarships.  The scholarship applicant does not have to be pledging Phi Kappa Theta at the point of application or at the time acceptance of the scholarship.

Description: Be a first-generation student, whose parents have no more than two years of education beyond high school and no post-secondary degree.  Must be admitted to K-State by Feb 15th.  Have an ACT score between 22-26.  Have a high school GPA of at lease 3.0, and demonstrate fnancial need.  You must intend to live in Putnam Hall on campus.  Complete the Student Strength Inventory assessment.

Cleland Award (KU)  - Due Date: Mar 1st  (Closed 2014-2015)
DescriptionThe Cleland Award was established to help eliminate hatred, violence, and bigotry against gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, and transgender (GLBT) persons. The award provides financing for the college education of incoming freshmen at KU who have experienced discrimination, bullying, and/or violence based on the belief, real or perceived, that said students are gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, or transgender; or for students who have exhibited support for GLBT persons. Scott Mecham BBB (Better Business Bureau) Student of Integrity Awards -

Description2013 Scott Mecham BBB (Better Business Bureau) Student of Integrity Awards. Eight students will each be granted $2,000 college scholarships: two from the Kansas Plains area, two from metro Omaha and Southwest Iowa, two from metro Lincoln and greater Nebraska and two from South Dakota. These scholarships recognize students of integrity who represent BBB values. They are awarded to students who exemplify ethical behavior and personal integrity and who demonstrate humility, courage, compassion and respect for their peers, teachers and community.  Turn in application to Mrs Brack by March 2, 2015.

DescriptionOnly HHS seniors graduates are eligible. Students already receiving ORR scholarship funds must have maintained a 2.5 GPA of higher in a minimum of 12 hours the prior semester to be eligible for renewal. Payment will be made out to the scholarship recipient and their post high school attendance center. Vocational student’s qualifications will be compared to those of other vocational schools.

DescriptionPRIMO awards five $500 scholarships to students who are or will be attending an accredited Kansas university, community college, or technical school. SWKBA - Due Date: Mar 25th (Closed 2014-15)
DescriptionSWKBA is sponsoring its annual scholarship essay.  The essay must be on the subject of the American Bart Association 2015 Law Day theme.  the 2015 Law Day them is Magna Carta: Symbol of Freedom Under Law.  The essay must be no more than 300 words, typewritten.  They will be offering five $1000 scholarships.  Must return to Mrs Brack by March 25th.

American Petroleum Institute - Due Date: Mar 26th (Closed 2014-15)
DescriptionAPI is offering four $1000 per year scholarships to eligible graduating seniors. Must be upper 50% of class, parent/guardian must be employed in some phase of the oil industry or you plan to major in oil or gas related major, such as engineering or geology, Must return to Mrs Brack by March 26th.

Kansas Golf Foundation  - Due Date: Mar 27th (Closed 2014-15)
DescriptionApplicant must be a high school senior in good standing, must be planning to enroll full-time in an accredited KS college or university, must of participated in high school golf or junior golf. Scholarships are awarded to graduating KS HS senior based on academic performance, leadership, a written essay & financial need. Pheasants Forever - Great Bend Chapter - Due Date: Mar 28th (closed 2013-14)
Description: Offering four $500 scholarships. Requirements are: interested in a Wild Life/Animal Science/Agriculture related degree, maintain 3.0 GPA as a senior, and attending a College or Jr. College in Kansas. Must be turned in to Mrs. Brack by March 28th.

John Hiss Memorial Scholarship - Due Date: Mar 28th (closed 2013-14)
Description: GB Cooperative Association is offering a scholarship to a senior in BT County or surrounding countries. Applicants must attend BCC; show scholastic ability, financial need, leadership & citizenship. Special attention will be given to applicant pursuing an education in an agricultural field, but other applicants will be considered. Scholarship is for $1000 per year for a full-time student. It is renewable for additional year at BCC at the discretion of the scholarship committee if certain criteria are meet. Must turn into Mrs Brack by Thursday, March 28th.

KHERF (Kansas Hospital Education & Research Foundation)- Due Date: Mar 30th 
Description: All Kansans pursuing a degree or certificate in health care are encourged to apply for the twelfth annual "Encouraging Excellence" scholarships. KHERF partners with the Kansas Association of Health Care Executives, the Kansas Hospital Human Resources' Association, the Kansas Chapter of HIMSS, and the Kansas Foundation for Medical Care to provide 30 individual scholarships in various health care disciplines. This is a competitive scholarship program. Turn it in to Mrs Brack no later than March 30th.

Janice M. Scott Memorial

Description
Three to five $2500. US citizen, GPA 3.0 or above, demonstrated good leadership abilities, parents income cannot exceed $100,000, two letter of recommendation, official transcript, parents financial documentation, HS picture, and essay. KHERF - Due Date: Mar 31st (closed for 2013-14)
Description: KS Hospital Education & Research Foundation wants to assist Kansans in pursuing education in any discipline of patient care or administration.  Eligibility: applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a part-time or full-time course of study leading to certificate, degree or credential.  The school may be a Kansas area technical school or 2-4 year institution with a health care program that is accredited.  If chosen the student will be required to show proof of acceptance into a program.

Archer Scholarship - GBCF - Due Date: Mar 31st by 6pm (Closed 2014-15)
Description
The Archer sisters have created a scholarship fund for students demonstrating financial need. Must be a FT student at a KS college, university or community college, show financial need, work experience, extra curricular activities, & community service. Minimum 3.0 GPA.  Scholarship awarded at or around $1,500. It is not renewable but the student may submit an application in the subsequent year.  Must be completed online only.

Kansas Masonic Foundation Student Loan & Scholarship Program  - 
Due Date: Apr 1st (closed 2013-14)
DescriptionThe current maximum interest rate for the Student Loan Program is 4%. No Masonic affiliation is needed to apply for the loan. Loan approvals are based on each student's situation without regard to Masonic affiliation, age, race, sex, or disability. See Mrs. Brack for the application.
